The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is actively seeking candidates for a full‑time non‑tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or full Professor in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Successful candidates will have a proven history of excellent clinical skills and a strong desire to be involved with resident/student teaching. Research opportunities and collaboration are available, and prior involvement in clinical research is desirable, with provision of QI support through mentorship.

Responsibilities Teaching – 10%

Educational responsibilities include providing mentorship, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University (AU) and Children’s Hospital of Georgia (CHOG). The position will develop a more in‑depth educational experience in pediatric infectious diseases for trainees at different academic levels and provide training to residents/medical students/staff at AU/CHOG through didactics.

Clinical – 90%

Provide clinical care for the pediatric patient population in outpatient, inpatient, and telemedicine settings, including diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of infectious disorders, HIV care, and consultation from inpatient/outpatient and emergency settings. Share weekday, weekend, and holiday emergent/after‑hours call coverage.

Required Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university; Board Certified in Pediatrics; Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases; eligible for a State of Georgia medical license, federal DEA, and PALS certification. Faculty employment qualifications for USG institutions: consistent with SACSCOC requirements, evidence of teaching ability, scholar activity, and compliance with internal criteria.

Rank‑Specific Expectations Assistant Professor

– Early level career faculty member with appropriate post‑graduate training.

Associate Professor

– Mid level faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable.

Professor

– Senior level faculty member with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable.

Shift/Salary/Benefits Full‑time (FTE 1.0). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, etc. Tuition Assistance Program available after 6 months of employment.
