About Us Henrico County Public Schools is one of the six largest county public school divisions in Virginia, offering a nationally recognized educational program. The district serves a diverse suburban community surrounding Richmond, with proximity to Washington, D.C., the Atlantic Ocean, and the North Carolina border.
General Statement of Duties The candidate must be ready to demonstrate a successful coaching background, showing comprehensive leadership of a high school baseball program. Responsibilities include managing the team and its staff, planning and supervising games and practices, handling equipment, and motivating student‑athletes. The coach must also commit to the academic development and growth of players.
Essential Duties
Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic development of student‑athletes.
Commitment to ensuring the physical well‑being of student‑athletes during site‑based practices and while traveling to away games and events.
Prior experience and proven strategies for helping student‑athletes pursue post‑high school collegiate opportunities.
Ability to foster healthy school‑community relations by keeping the community informed about the program’s needs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with players, parents, and school administration.
Ability to organize practices, games, and other team events efficiently, in compliance with HCPS and VHSL requirements and standards.
Availability of written reference attesting to the candidate’s high‑level leadership for a high‑level baseball school program.
Minimum Qualifications
Substantial experience as a baseball coach, preferably at the high school level or higher, with a proven ability to provide leadership for players and coaching staff.
Experience as a player at the collegiate or professional level is preferred.
Must be able to provide written references attesting to the candidate’s ability to deliver high‑level leadership and coaching for a high‑level baseball school program.
