Job Summary
James Avery Artisan Jewelry is seeking a Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) Specialist to support the execution and optimization of our customer relationship marketing programs, with a focus on email and SMS channels. Reporting to the Manager of Consumer Insights & Analytics, this role will be responsible for building, deploying, and monitoring customer communications that strengthen loyalty and drive business results. The CRM Specialist partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure messages are delivered on time, accurately segmented, and aligned with brand and campaign strategies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Build and execute customer communications across email and SMS, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with brand standards. Collaborate with the Consumer Insights & Analytics Manager to apply data-driven segmentation, targeting, and personalization. Support campaign integration by partnering with the Campaign Project Manager, Digital Marketing, and Creative teams. Support all transactional and triggered email and SMS messages to ensure the accurate exchange of data and content by partnering with Ecommerce, Retail Operations, and Customer Service teams. Maintain the CRM content and deployment calendar, coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment with broader marketing initiatives. Monitor campaign performance (e.g., open rates, CTR, conversions, opt-out rates) and provide regular reporting and insights. Conduct A/B and multivariate testing to optimize messaging, creativity, segmentation, and send times. Partner with Campaign Project Manager on localized strategies to reach and engage regional audiences. Ensure CRM programs support James Avery’s brand voice and storytelling while driving measurable business results. Maintain strong attention to detail when reviewing creative, proofs, and deployment processes. Stay informed on CRM innovations and evolving best practices in email and SMS marketing. Ensure email and SMS compliance with James Avery’s Privacy Notice, CAN-SPAM legislation, permissions, platform-specific constraints and any other updates to legal requirements. WHAT IS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 3 years’ experience in CRM, digital marketing or similar work. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, specifically in Excel. Hands-on experience working in email and SMS platforms (e.g., Sailthru, Attentive, or similar). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and recommend optimizations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Must be able to travel periodically to retail locations and corporate offices in Kerrville and Cedar Park, TX, as necessary. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working for a multi-channel retail or consumer-facing brand. Experience partnering with creative teams to deliver targeted marketing assets. Hands-on experience building campaigns in CRM or marketing automation tools. Hands-on experience creating marketing audiences/segments with a customer data platform (e.g., Acquia CDP or similar). Knowledge of customer segmentation and personalization strategies. Knowledge of platform integrations and data automation design utilizing sftp or API. Knowledge of html, utm tagging and templating language (e.g., Zephyr) for personalization and dynamic content in email and SMS messages.
