As a
Senior Security Solution Engineer
for the Americas Sales Excellence & Operations Enterprise Usage Excellence team, you will play a critical role in accelerating customer Security transformation by leading technical engagements that drive customer adoption of Microsoft Identity, Data Protection, and Threat Protection AI-powered security solutions. This role is deeply technical and is responsible for delivering compelling demonstrations and guiding customers through envisioning sessions that align with their business goals and technical requirements. As a trusted advisor, the
Senior Security Solution Engineer
ensures that governance, security, and compliance are embedded in every conversation to build confidence and drive decision-making. By focusing on usage optimization, you will interact with existing customers to help them realize the value of products they own but may not be utilizing to their full potential.
In addition to technical leadership, the
Senior Security Solution Engineer
is accountable for driving core business momentum through competitive differentiation, technical blocker resolution, and seamless handoffs to deployment teams. You will work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrate, and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision allowing the team to achieve/exceed quarterly targets in your accounts. The role emphasizes operational excellence, partner collaboration, and continuous learning to ensure scalable impact and sustained customer success. Responsibilities
Maintain expert-level knowledge in Microsoft Security solutions (Entra, Purview, Defender and Sentinel) and apply it to lead technical engagements with customers.
Independently deliver discovery, demo, and whiteboarding sessions that align with customer business goals and technical readiness.
Build competitive strategy by identifying product differentiators and proactively addressing objections to win technical decisions.
Lead solution design and PoC efforts by reframing customer challenges, quantifying business impact, and demonstrating Microsoft's value in complex selling environments.
Know when and how to escalate blockers, push back on misaligned objections, and guide customers through resolution paths.
Engage in partner sell-with scenarios by co-owning technical execution and acting as a trusted source of partner knowledge.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales, solution architecture or technical consulting experience
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales, solution architecture or technical consulting experience
OR 5+ years technical pre-sales, solution architecture or technical consulting experience
OR equivalent experience..
2+ years experience with developing and delivering customer demos/proof of concepts for Security across competitive offerings
4+ years of technical experience and/or knowledge in Identity or Data Protection including ANY of the following:
Experience with Microsoft data protection (Purview), and/or identity and access solutions (Entra ID, Defender for Identity), or other identity protection technologies.
Identity management systems, authentication methods, authorization models, data protection and understanding of how AI enhances identity and data security across cybersecurity practices.
Proficiency in concepts such as Zero Trust, least privilege access, identity federation, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA) including data access and protection.
Experience with major cloud and productivity platforms' identity solutions and associated concerns, including cloud workload identity protection and identity governance.
Experienced in deploying data classification and managing secure storage solutions to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical assets.
Familiar with compliance requirements-including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA-for safeguarding sensitive information.

6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience

Hold certifications in Microsoft 365 Security, Azure Security, or relevant industry credentials (CISSP, CCSP, IAAP).
Solution Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
