General Overview
The Data & Reporting Analyst (DRA) is a key member of the technology / operations team. The DRA works with business and technology stakeholders to understand processes, data, and functional requirements to better leverage technology applications, improve efficiency and enhance reporting.
The DRA helps identify business needs, and the data and information required to design, develop, maintain, and deliver efficient and effective information, analysis, insight, and reporting for both internal and external constituents. The DRA manages and owns extract, load and transform (ELT) processes in and among systems to allow simple access to data. The DRA serves as a business partner to functional teams to understand their needs, analyze processes, and build more efficient and effective ways to enable our professionals to focus on analysis and insight for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Data and Reporting Manager to design, develop, maintain, and enhance visualizations, analyses, reports, dashboards, workflows, KPIs, and other tools to enable teams to monitor, manage, and audit processes.
- Serve as business partner to assigned functional teams to understand and define needs and develop solutions to improve efficiency and deliver high value analysis, insight, and reporting for internal and external constituents.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Waycrosse practice areas and the supporting technologies to specify clear requirements, design solutions, and implement.
- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, flowcharts, and procedures to ensure data integrity, frequency, and accuracy within and between key systems.
- Participate in complex projects which require technical acumen, expertise, and critical thinking - specifically in data management, connectivity and identify and help deliver improvements to processes with data driven decisions.
- Train and coach employees to leverage technology tools to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Serve as a change management champion. Help groups to successfully adapt to changes through communication of benefits, listening, and supporting teams through changes processes.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned applications (i.e. PowerAutomate, Power BI, Clearwater PRISM, Summitas (Financial Dashboard), JD Edwards Reports Now, MS Copilot) to improve processes and efficiencies, train employees and support users.
- Create, implement, and maintain data connections, tools, workflows, and automation to create efficiencies.
- Extract, load, and transform data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and APIs.
- Create and maintain retrieval queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Serve as backup to the Data and Reporting Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in technology, family office, wealth management, or professional services with demonstrated success managing data, analysis, and projects.
- Experience with data warehouse design, maintenance, data models, governance, and tools.
- Experience creating data visualizations and data modeling in Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database principles, data queries, and manipulation.
- Experience connecting, extracting, normalizing, and analyzing large sets of data
- Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite tools, particularly Excel (macros, graphs, charts, large data sets).
- Experience with AI tools is a plus.
- Experience with PowerAutomate is a plus.
- Experience with Clearwater Prism, MSCI Total Plan, JD Edwards, Salesforce, Snowflake, or GoodData is a plus
- Strong analytic, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of investment and accounting principles, terms, data and systems a plus.
- Knowledge of process design, workflows, project management, and end-user experience.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, demanding cross-functional environment. working with business users, project team members, IT personnel and vendors.
- Curious, goal oriented, and initiative-taking with a passion for leading transformative change.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to all levels of business and technical audiences.
- Ability to proactively identify, suggest, and implement process improvements.
- Ability to maintain a prominent level of integrity and discretion managing confidential information.
Working Conditions
The physical working conditions of this position include an office environment where sitting and working on a computer for extended periods of time are common.
Hybrid Work Environment
We operate a hybrid work environment. Employees are required to be in the office Wednesdays and a minimum of two other days per week, for a total of three days in office and two days remote. During the first 30 days of employment, in-office work is expected to ensure effective onboarding, collaboration, and relationship building. This work arrangement is subject to change at the discretion of Waycrosse.
