Description Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Visalia, California. This position offers an opportunity to oversee critical accounting operations and play a key role in financial reporting and compliance within the construction and solar project sectors. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting processes to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial systems. Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting and finance operations, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, journal entries, account analysis, and financial statement reporting.
- Oversee general ledger activities, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, fixed asset depreciation, revenue recognition, and cost accounting specific to construction and solar projects.
- Drive improvements in financial reporting cycles and closing processes, while supporting the development of annual budgets and planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and enhance accounting controls in collaboration with organizational leadership.
- Assist with tax compliance, board reporting, the implementation of accounting procedures, and the coordination of annual insurance renewals.
- Lead efforts to streamline accounting workflows and ensure accurate job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain efficient use of accounting systems and tools, including Acumatica and Excel.
- Provide guidance on cost accounting practices and support project-based financial analysis to aid decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in an accounting manager or similar leadership role.
- Proficiency in construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP tracking, and cost analysis.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial statement audits.
- Expertise in accounting software systems, with preferred experience in Acumatica.
- Advanced skills in Excel and other Office applications.
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and accounting controls.
- Experience in the construction or solar industries is highly desirable.
