Description Robert Half is working with a well-established organization in search of a skilled Accounting Supervisor to oversee the accounting team and ensure the accuracy of the organization's financial operations. This contract-to-permanent role offers a unique opportunity for growth, leadership, and the chance to manage accounting processes within a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting is delivered on time.
- Conduct and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial adjustments.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to provide insights on financial performance and assist with strategic decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Provide training and support to the accounting team to encourage professional development and improve team performance.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with an ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working in industries such as real estate, construction, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting or intercompany transactions.
- Knowledge of ERP systems or other financial management software.
- Previous involvement in process improvement or systems implementation projects.
