Accounting Clerk Job at Robert Half in Woodland

Description Amanda Warren with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk in Woodland, California. In this role, you will support the accounting department by handling financial record-keeping, processing transactions, and assisting with administrative tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners. Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile agency-billed invoices and statements, ensuring timely payments to insurance companies and brokers via check or online methods.
• Prepare and submit premium financing quotes and agreements electronically, while maintaining accurate documentation in the agency management system.
• Record financial transactions in the general ledger, including client online payments, direct bill transactions, and agency bill payments.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in company and broker payable accounts within the general ledger.
• Provide support during month-end activities as needed, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Adhere to established workflows and standards within the agency to maintain operational consistency.
• Serve as backup for other team members, including front desk responsibilities, when required.
• Take on special projects as assigned to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external partners.
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.
