- Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead and manage the accounting department, including accounting staff, financial reporting, tax, and internal controls.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices to support retail operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights into financial performance and budgeting.
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
- Assess and manage risks related to the company's accounting and financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, particularly in a retail environment.
- Support the development of budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with retail goals.
- Provide strategic financial advice to executive leadership to support business objectives and decisions.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing accounting teams.
- Strong understanding of retail accounting principles, including inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is must).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
