Description Amanda Warren with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and guide financial operations within a construction organization in Sacramento, California. This role requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Prepare and review financial statements and coordinate audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Supervise account reconciliations to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Manage journal entries, ensuring proper classification and adherence to accounting principles.
• Monitor and report on work-in-progress (WIP) accounts to maintain transparency and financial accuracy.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff, fostering growth and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational financial goals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Expertise in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Experience with work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
