Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sr. Legal Secretary to join our team on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to support a fast-paced legal environment by assisting attorneys with high caseloads and providing exceptional administrative and litigation support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and expertise in managing diverse legal tasks efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including briefs, motions, and subpoenas, using established templates.
- Coordinate and manage multi-document filings, ensuring accurate e-filing in both state and federal courts.
- Maintain and update case information using systems such as Court Alert.
- Prepare comprehensive binders, exhibits, and client or matter files to support case preparation.
- Oversee attorneys' calendars, deadlines, and meetings to ensure smooth workflow.
- Handle billing processes, time entry, and client communications with professionalism.
- Assist attorneys with travel arrangements, continuing legal education (CLE) registrations, memberships, and speaking engagements.
- Proofread and format legal documents using advanced Microsoft Word features to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain confidentiality and deliver exceptional client service in all interactions.
- Provide reliable support in a fast-paced environment while managing approximately 200 active cases.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a fast-paced workload and support attorneys handling high caseloads.
- Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and billing software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with trial preparation, including drafting pleadings and managing exhibits.
- Familiarity with docket and calendar management to track case deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and formatting expertise.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and client information.
