Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Accounting Manager to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $100,000 to $115,000 per year.


Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of GAAP and reporting structures as they relate to financial statements and operational units.
  • Complete the monthly financial closing checklist to ensure all required analyses are performed accurately.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts for retail and warehouse entities and record necessary journal entries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper classification of accounts and maintain accounting procedures and reporting hierarchies.
  • Develop and implement more efficient procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 5 years of experience in a retail organization managing accounting staff.
  • Possess a CPA or CMA designation (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (preferred).
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills in financial data analysis, variance identification, and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Supervise and lead the accounting team, including planning, training, performance reviews, and workload delegation.
  • Manage financial reporting, including period-end close, financial statements, and preparation for quarterly and annual meetings.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations.
  • Conduct financial analyses and investigate variances, communicating findings to management.
  • Collaborate with finance department managers to support overall financial objectives and process improvements
