From your PASSION to ours Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager. This role can be based out of
Buffalo, NY ,
Chicago, NY , or
Londonderry, NH .
Job Summary The Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager Indirect – Supply Chain & Warehousing manages a portfolio of Logistics categories and projects. They will be responsible for establishing strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders in Programs and functional areas to align around category strategies and project requirements, scopes, and timelines. The role involves developing or updating sourcing strategies for each category as appropriate, partnering with global and regional programs and offices to drive procurement through the supply chain team, and eliminating unmanaged spend. The manager establishes long‑term agreements where feasible to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, price, and other terms. They advise and enable country programs in sourcing projects as appropriate and develop beneficial partnerships with global and regional suppliers. The categories focus on supply chain with a strong dominance for warehousing, including 3PL and inbound warehousing.
From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include:
Facilitation of sourcing initiatives and projects with programs, development of category strategies, supplier negotiation, establishment and maintenance of supplier relationships, and leadership of business reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Work with internal stakeholders to optimize, develop or adjust the warehouse network, on a very strong and fast acquisition and growth approach in the group.
Provide strong advisory to management.
Articulate a long‑term vision for a fast‑changing, growing company.
Establish strong collaborative relationships with internal groups, divisions, and the USA Supply Chain Group.
Monthly reporting on progress and achievements regarding savings, value analysis, and negotiations completed.
Implement a yearly savings program, defined with Sr Director, and provide monthly comments to Sr Director. Responsible for pricing and % savings to elaborate budget for next year.
Source and qualify suppliers, including site visits and establishing procedures for evaluating potential suppliers.
Compile, organize, and maintain all detailed supplier information used to evaluate new and existing suppliers.
Research and compile all purchasing information including price history, quality, and service for bid proposals.
Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and/or pricing, and prepare market analysis reports with recommendations regarding alternatives.
Continuously assess suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and service.
Maintain all non‑productive resources.
Requirements Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education
Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college in business or a business‑related field.
Experience
7‑10 years of purchasing experience with a minimum of 2 within supply‑chain categories including freight and warehousing.
People with significant business experience in warehousing will be considered even without procurement background; reefer experience is an asset.
CPG industry experience preferred.
Certifications and specific knowledge
Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities.
Project management skills.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong planning, project management, leadership, and execution skills.
Rigorous data‑driven/analytical capability and ability to present data to a leadership level.
Ease of presenting in front of small to medium size groups and leadership.
Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
Ability to operate in a team environment with the ability to motivate others.
Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
