As a
Structural Bridge Design Engineer
with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact directly with clients, become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridge's life cycle. Positions Available -
Mid-Level (4-10 years related Bridge Design Experience) Senior Level (10 + years related Bridge Design Experience)
Ideal Candidates Will Have
At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University 4 + years of experience: ideal candidate will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license 10 + years of experience: ideal candidate will have a valid Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of Louisiana.
General Responsibilities Of a Structural Bridge Design Engineer
Review and check standard structural design calculations. Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software. Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans. Provide information for design reports. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments. Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence. Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans. Review and check drawings. Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc. Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc. Will take on leadership roles, will assist Projects Managers in identifying issues and developing solutions. Senior Engineers will serve as technical leaders on complex projects. Senior Engineers will be responsible for the delivery of projects
