Job Summary
Leading facility maintenance group is in search of a skilled HVAC Technician to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well known company that is based within the New Castle DE area. We are seeking candidates who have a minimum of 5 years of Journeyman level craftsmanship in HVAC, Hydraulics, Plumbing, or Automation/Controls disciplines. Required experience includes working commercial building experience that includes boilers, AC, pumps, cooling towers, and refrigeration work. Candidates must be able to read and interpret Piping & Instrument Drawings (P&IDs), Floor Plans, Site Maps and/or Electrical Diagrams. We are seeking candidates who have proven work ability to repair building plumbing, & HVAC auxiliary systems.
Position is a modified 2nd shift in a 24‑7 facility that ranges from $45‑$48/hr + OT, Tools/uniforms, 401k, Benefits & 16 days of PTO. Work hours: 8am to 4pm. Salary: $93,600 - $99,840 per year. Location: New Castle, Delaware. Job type: Permanent. Education: High School.
Responsibilities
Operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of all related mechanical, electrical, control systems, plumbing, and life safety systems
Routine and preventive maintenance duties including filter changes, lubrication, control and performance check. Replace bearings, motors, and dampers
Works closely with Operations to ensure efficient operations; maintaining records, logs and files as required
Perform scheduled rounds and readings on plant systems/assets
Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
Analyzes the operation of various systems, determines the cause of any problems/malfunctions and takes corrective action as required
Monitors operation, adjusts and maintains facility equipment and systems, records readings as necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment and systems, and notifies appropriate parties of any problems or malfunctions
Repair restroom fixtures, sweat/braze copper pipe, thread black pipe
Perform minor carpentry tasks, replace ceiling tiles, repair or replace door hardware, locks, panic bars etc.
Perform minor electrical tasks to include bulb and ballast replacement
Clean coils in air handling units and convectors to maintain optimum heat exchange
Assemble, install, repair, and maintain chilled and hot water systems
Routine operation and inspection of emergency generator and associated components
Inspect mechanical, electrical systems, trace electrical circuits, operate switchgear, record inspections, and write reports to Supervisors
