The Through Hole Assembly Technician is responsible for the manual insertion and assembly of electronic components onto PCBs. This position requires the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings to ensure all components are placed correctly and securely. Preparation and trimming of through-hole components is also a key task of this position.
Principal Responsibilities:
Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials, (BOMs) to identify components and their correct placement on PCBs. Manually insert through-hole components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and integrated circuits into designated holes on the PCB. Providing support for the assembly process, potentially utilizing hand tools, soldering equipment, or other specialized instruments. Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to production deadlines. Execute operations pertaining to the production of electronic products, encompassing the preparation and installation of components into printed circuit boards. Adhere to production drawings and sample assemblies or receive verbal instructions concerning assigned duties. Resolve minor assembly issues and escalate complex problems to supervisors. Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and tools, diagnose malfunctions, and report repair requirements. Prepare parts for assembly by trimming, bending or performing other preliminary steps as needed. Assemble components utilizing hand tools, power tools, and machinery, ensuring optimal fit and functionality.

Position and align parts and subassemblies in accordance with technical drawings, templates, or precise measurements. Mount assembled components, including transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on circuit boards. Inspect parts and materials for defects, damage, or inconsistencies, reporting any issues to supervisors. Mentor and guide coworkers/new hires as required. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Maintain compliance with company safety policies by adhering to all established safety protocols and ESD procedures to protect sensitive electronic components. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Computer literacy is essential, along with the ability to read, write, review, and approve documentation. Participate in company-sponsored and specialized training programs to enhance skills and professional development. Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Associates degree or technical school certification in electronics, electrical engineering or related field is preferred 1-5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or a related electronics assembly environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail Possesses excellent hand-eye coordination Capable of sustaining high levels of concentration for extended durations Exhibits strong manual dexterity Demonstrated working knowledge of IPC A 610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD standards is required.
