What You’ll Do Our Accounting and Finance team is at the forefront shaping strategic decisions across the company. As a member of the team, the Corporate Staff Accountant is responsible for accuracy of a variety of financial records. The responsibilities include maintaining the financial records of the company through analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts, as well as preparing reports. A successful Corporate Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills, problem‑solving skills, knowledge of accounting principles, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Record monthly journal entries and review P&L for completeness. Work with business unit partners in multiple locations in the reporting and analysis of financial statement results, including explaining monthly variances by business unit.
Assist with the month‑end closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare supporting tax schedules for income and property tax returns.
Responsible for recording, monitoring and maintaining company’s fixed assets and leases.
Complete monthly balance sheet account analysis and bank reconciliation ensuring reconciling items are resolved promptly.
Participate in annual audit by updating preexisting schedules and completing analysis for ad‑hoc requests.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Two plus years of experience
Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Excel
ERP experience required. SAP experience a plus
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong interactive and communication skills
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills
High energy, self‑motivated with initiative
Work effectively in a team environment to enhance team efficiency
Ability to work under pressure and complete responsibilities within required deadlines
Note on Location and Schedule
This is a hybrid role based out of our Des Plaines, IL office.
Regular, on‑site presence is required (4) days per week.
Demonstrates flexibility regarding work hours to support deadlines or cross‑functional collaboration.
