Position Summary The Human Resource Generalist will execute the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department with a high degree of independence. The role may specialize in specific areas of HR responsibility for the entire company—benefits, leave administration, recruiting, safety/workers compensation, events, and engagement—while also serving as the first point of contact for employees in respective locations (e.g., Oakland, MD; Quechee, VT). A passion for helping others, the ability to multitask, and strong organizational skills are critical to success.

In partnership with the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will act as an employee champion and change agent, working to create a positive, empowering, and high‑performance culture. This role will identify, attract, and onboard top talent to efficiently and effectively meet dynamic business needs. The position is located onsite in Windsor, VT.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for HR‑related issues in the assigned location

Partner with the Director, Human Resources to drive employee engagement, recruitment, and retention through people‑focused events

Talent Acquisition

Own the end‑to‑end candidate experience, ensuring positive interview interactions

Develop candidate pipelines and source through job boards, LinkedIn, cold calls, etc.

Maintain records on recruiting activities as required by our affirmative action plan

Manage the onboarding process in partnership with facilities, IT, and hiring managers, continuously improving the onboarding experience

Provide support to employees on various HR‑related topics

Partner with the IT team to maintain the company intranet and improve internal communication

Conduct stay and exit interviews; analyze trends and recommend improvements to company policies and practices

Maintain up‑to‑date job knowledge and stay abreast of best practices, including employment law, through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and organizations

Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Ability to work independently

Ability to maintain confidentiality related to HR matters

Qualifications Desired

1–3 years of HR experience

Relevant experience a plus; HRCI (PHR, SPHR) or SHRM (CP, SCP) certification a plus

Proficiency in Google Applications (Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs)

Familiarity with SHRM’s HR Behavioral Competencies, as they will be used as behavioral criteria for this position
