YER HR Solutions is seeking a

Transmission Line Design Engineer

to support the planning and design of high-voltage transmission lines across Georgia. You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective transmission solutions, from concept through construction. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate cross‑functionally and contribute to the backbone of Georgia’s energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design overhead transmission lines (69kV to 500kV), including route selection, structure layout, and clearance analysis.

Use engineering software (e.g.,

PLS-CADD ,

PLS-POLE ) to perform structure modeling, sag/tension analysis, and line optimization.

Plan & profile drawings.

Bills of material.

Structure load cases and foundations.

Grounding and lightning protection layouts.

Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g.,

NESC ,

ASCE ,

IEEE , GTC guidelines).

Collaborate with internal teams: permitting, environmental, real estate, project management, procurement, and construction.

Conduct field visits to evaluate terrain, line routes, and support construction troubleshooting.

Support emergency response and storm restoration efforts as needed.

Drive continuous improvement by helping to develop and maintain design standards, templates, and workflows.

Bachelor’s Degree in

Civil ,

Electrical , or

Structural Engineering .

2–5 years of experience in transmission line design.

Proficiency in

PLS-CADD

and familiarity with

AutoCAD .

Understanding of line loading, structure selection, and hardware.

Knowledge of applicable industry codes and safety regulations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver's license (for site visits).

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license (or EIT actively pursuing PE).

Experience designing lines at 230kV and above.

Familiarity with

PLS-POLE ,

SAP2000 , or

LPILE .

Field construction or inspection experience.

Exposure to permitting or right-of-way processes.
