Patient Experience: Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves patient issues in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive patient experience. Patient Experience: Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive and joyful patient experience, including interpersonal habits that show care and Walgreens service traits. Patient Experience: Connects with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services; promotes the shift of Walgreens pharmacy from transactional to interpersonal. Participation: Participates and assists in events that reflect the unique communities we serve as requested by Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, or District Manager. Operations: Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, cost-effective medicines, and OTC products. Refers to the medical provider as needed. Operations: Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Operations: Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications, as required. Operations: Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies and standards. Establishes procedures to promote efficient workflow, including scheduling, role assignments, coordinating activities, and soliciting team input. Responsible for opening/closing the pharmacy and shift changes. Operations: Ensures Good Faith Dispensing elements are present in line with state and federal controlled substance laws. Operations: Collaborates with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities. Operations: Maintains IT knowledge of pharmacy systems, supports staff and patients with IT, and seeks productivity improvements. Operations: Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately to prevent payment rejections and resolves issues with insurers and providers. Operations: Follows up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies, and to discuss alternatives. Operations: Performs clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, disease state management, and other healthcare services. Operations: Partners with centralized support for patient registration and issue resolution, including virtual product reviews per company guidelines. Operations: Manages maintenance and improvement of the pharmacy department including repairs, cleaning, new equipment, and layout changes. Operations: Prepares and submits all records and documentation as required by state and federal laws to run the pharmacy business. People & Performance Management: Collaborates with Store Manager on staff hiring, discipline, termination, and legal compliance. People & Performance Management: Establishes expectations and goals, promotes teamwork, recognizes improvements, and conducts formal performance reviews. People & Performance Management: Identifies high-potential team members and manages career progression in collaboration with Store Manager. People & Performance Management: Addresses employee relations concerns and maintains morale. Training & Personal Development: Maintains required licensing/credentialing/certification; pursues ongoing knowledge through journals and company communications. Training & Personal Development: Completes required education credits and training; seeks professional development with mentorship from Healthcare Supervisors and Store Managers. Communications: Supports the Store Manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness services or strategy information to pharmacy staff. Business Performance Management: Analyzes performance data including pharmacy financials, customer service, and inventory. Manages asset protection and inventory oversight. Identifies trends and opportunities for improvement. Business Planning: Develops and maintains relationships with local medical professionals; promotes health and wellness awareness in the community; supports growth opportunities. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications : BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, operations, software/technology systems, and insurance billing. Some states may require more specific experience. Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state/federal controlled substance laws. An average leadership behaviors rating of at least 3.0 on the last performance review if on file, and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months (Internal candidates only). Preferred Qualifications : Supervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing pharmacy staff; at least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreens; average leadership rating of 3.7 or above on the last performance review (Internal candidates only).
