Job Overview WVU School of Medicine, Department of Medicine seeks a board‑certified hospice and palliative care medicine physician to serve as Section Chief of the Palliative and Supportive Care service.

Program Overview Our Adult Palliative and Supportive Care Service provides regional and statewide leadership in end‑of‑life care, participating in the West Virginia Center for End‑of‑Life Care, the West Virginia Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment program, and the West Virginia e‑Directive Registry. The service offers inpatient consults at Ruby Memorial Hospital, telemedicine consults across the state, and outpatient supportive care at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, and the WVU Physician Office Center.

Location Morgantown, West Virginia

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD, MD/PhD, or DO); foreign training may be accepted if equivalent.

Board certification or eligibility in hospice and palliative care medicine.

Completed an accredited fellowship in hospice and palliative care medicine.

Eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.

Strong leadership skills to oversee programmatic and faculty development.

Responsibilities

Serve as Section Chief of the Palliative and Supportive Care service, leading clinical operations and education.

Provide excellent patient care, including inpatient consults and telemedicine services.

Lead and develop the Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine Fellowship programs.

Engage in clinical research and advance academic goals, educating future physicians.

Collaborate with statewide initiatives and interdisciplinary teams to enhance end‑of‑life care.
