This role is ideal for a mid- to senior-level litigation associate ready to take ownership of complex matters and work directly with seasoned trial attorneys.
Description: This opportunity is for a Commercial Litigation Associate with at least 5 years of experience in substantive litigation. The associate will manage complex matters from inception through resolution, including court appearances, drafting high-level pleadings, motions, and orders to show cause, and participating in all stages of discovery, including depositions. The position offers the chance to step into meaningful client contact and courtroom exposure from day one, while working within a supportive team of accomplished litigators.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active bar admission in New York and New Jersey (or immediate eligibility to waive into NJ)
5+ years of hands‑on litigation experience in complex commercial disputes
Proficiency in CPLR and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
Strong drafting skills (motions, pleadings, legal briefs)
Experience managing discovery and depositions
Strong legal research and analytical skills
Familiarity with e‑discovery platforms and litigation management software
Excellent oral and written communication
Strong business acumen and a client‑focused mindset
Preferred Skills:
Background handling commercial litigation within the financial services or real estate sectors
Trial/arbitration experience or clerkship background
Experience with mediation and ADR strategiesExperience advising clients on litigation risk and pre‑dispute strategy
Technical fluency in Relativity or similar document review platforms
Demonstrated ability to manage junior associates or paralegals
Strong academic performance at a top‑tier law school
Past federal or state commercial judicial clerkship
