Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development

Job Description The Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development plays a pivotal role in shaping communities by leading site development, master planning, and infrastructure projects from conception through construction. This position requires deep expertise in entitlements, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and environmental considerations. The role integrates with multiple disciplines to deliver sustainable solutions that align with client vision, regulatory requirements, and Performance‑Based Design principles.
Make an Impact
Lead design and management of site development projects, including mixed‑use, civic, commercial, and institutional campuses, and industrial parks.
Develop grading, stormwater, erosion control, and utility plans to support land development initiatives.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater systems, detention ponds, and green infrastructure.
Collaborate with architects, planners, and environmental consultants to integrate land use, zoning, and permitting requirements.
Manage entitlements and approvals with municipalities, DOTs, and regulatory agencies.
Provide construction‑phase services including RFIs, shop drawings, and field inspections to ensure compliance with design intent.
Mentor junior engineers in site design techniques, CAD standards, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
PE licensure required.
10+ years of professional experience in land development, or 10+ years as a licensed PE.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydrology / hydraulics software.
Strong expertise in land development codes, zoning ordinances, and stormwater regulations.
Experience with site layout, roadway access, parking, and utility coordination for large‑scale developments.
Ability to perform flood risk and environmental impact analyses to create resilient and sustainable site designs.
