Corporate Accountant
Location : Onsite | Central Houston Area
About the Role A well-established and reputable family office is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Accountant to step into a broad, hands‑on role within a small, stable team. This position is great for someone who thrives in a full‑cycle accounting environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. Reporting directly to the C‑Suite, you’ll be deeply involved in a wide variety of accounting functions that are critical to the ongoing success of the organization. Key Responsibilities
Maintain and record financial transactions in QuickBooks on a GAAP basis
Perform full‑cycle accounting for corporate entities
Manage accounts payable, bill payments, invoicing, and payroll
Prepare financial statements and assist with board‑level presentations
Lead budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis
Oversee annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
Manage franchise and property tax filings, as well as 1099 reporting
Coordinate tax returns (federal and state) with external tax advisors
Maintain and organize accounting, insurance, and legal records
Support additional projects and take on ad hoc responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
CPA required
10–15 years of progressive accounting experience
Public accounting experience, Big 4 preferred
Prior experience in a professional services organization
Proven record of long‑term tenure and job stability
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP
Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks a plus)
Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
