Take ownership of critical mine planning and surveying projects in a role that combines fieldwork, technology, and strategic planning.
This is a prime role for a technically strong engineer who enjoys being outdoors, working directly with operations, and playing an integral role in production, surveying, and future site development.
Responsibilities
Conduct monthly drone-based volume surveys in active mining areas and ore stockpiles for reconciliation and planning accuracy.
Update pit and dump topography and maintain mine models to support short‑term and long‑term planning.
Survey and track ore zone boundaries to maximize ore recovery and improve extraction practices.
Develop short‑ and medium‑term mine plans, communicate them clearly to site operators, and help maintain operational budgets and ore inventory targets.
Coordinate exploratory drilling campaigns, including layout design, sample collection, and integration of ore quality data into isopach models.
Collaborate with corporate geology and mining teams to align day‑to‑day activities with broader quarry development goals.
Audit and train site teams on ore sampling protocols and survey measurement procedures as needed.
Preferred Experience
Experience with drone surveys, GPS surveying, and CAD-based mine planning tools.
Field experience in quarry or mine sites, including exploratory drilling and ore quality tracking.
Strong technical background in engineering with a focus on mining or civil engineering.
