Remote Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer
We are a Hawaii-based multi‑company construction group specializing in commercial and residential projects, with additional ventures in distribution and lifestyle brands. Our team values precision, accountability, and trust. We are seeking a remote Assistant CFO to strengthen our financial operations with a focus on construction industry standards.
The Assistant CFO will work directly with the CFO and executive leadership to oversee financial strategy, reporting, and compliance. This role requires excellent English communication skills, strong financial acumen, and a background in construction accounting and project finance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in project-level accounting, including job costing, preparing WIP (Work in Progress) schedules, and percentage‑of‑completion reporting
Oversee contract compliance, lien releases, retention, and change order financial tracking
Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Support consolidation and reporting across multiple entities
Assist in managing cash flow, budgets, and forecasts tied to project pipelines
Coordinate with project managers on budgets, pay applications, and cost‑to‑complete reports
Assist CFO with bonding requirements, banking relationships, and insurance audits
Prepare financial packages for lenders, investors, and auditors
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with construction industry experience preferred
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles (job costing, WIP, retention, pay apps)
Proficiency in Vista by Viewpoint, or other construction ERP/accounting software
Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and reporting
Exceptional English communication skills (written and spoken)
High attention to detail, with ability to work independently in a remote environment
Competitive salary $1200-$1500/month (based on experience)
