The Opportunity
Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead on substation projects up to 765 kV.
Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for high‑voltage substations.
Develop protection, control, and physical design deliverables (relay panels, one‑line diagrams, yard layouts, lightning protection, etc.).
Perform quality reviews of electrical substation design packages.
Mentor junior team members and present proposals and designs to clients and stakeholders.
Manage design budgets, schedules, and support business development activities.
Travel to client and vendor sites as required for design reviews and field verification.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance on design standards, codes, and company policies.
Ensure compliance with the quality program and support continuous improvement.
Prepare engineering deliverables, calculations, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with internal and external teams on moderately complex projects.
Represent client interests in high‑voltage substation projects and offer client‑focused solutions.
Mentor and develop lower‑level engineers; participate in performance management and recognition.
Assist with resource management and administrative responsibilities such as policies, timesheet approval, and expense reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing EHV (500 kV+) substations – protection & controls or physical.
Proven project lead or technical specialist experience on utility substation projects.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) review expertise.
Strong communication with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent accredited program.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Successful completion of required pre‑employment onboarding: background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record, as applicable.
