Position:

Emergency Veterinary Technician (CVT licensing not required) with our ER/ICU department.

* We are offering a SIGN-ON BONUS for qualified technicians!

Work Schedule:

Full-Time; Overnight - with 3-day work week options available!

Pay Range APCAI/CVTII:

$25.00 - $37.00/hour

*This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Shifts:

Flexible swing and overnight shifts

Flexibility: Work just 3 or 4 days a week with customizable shift options!

Example bi-weekly schedules include, but are not limited to:

Week 1: Sunday, Monday, and Thursday (7 PM - 7 AM)

Week 2: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (7 PM - 7 AM)

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (4 PM - 2 AM)

Week 2: Sunday, Thursday, Friday (7 PM - 7 AM)

Weekend Day (Fri -Sun 8a to 6p):

Weekend Night (Fri-Sun 6p to 8a):

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will:

Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.

Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.

Assist with or perform CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.

Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.

Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alert veterinarians to changes and issues.

Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

Calculate medical math (including infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.

Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels proficiently.

Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, PICC line, and central line catheters.

Mentor and train other team members.

Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines; ALS and BLS certification provided at no cost.

Engage with clients professionally and empathetically.
