The Senior Accountant is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting tasks. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. The primary duties for this position include the preparation of financial statements, accounts receivable, maintaining the general ledger, filing business related taxes, and assisting with audit preparations. Additional tasks may be assigned based on the needs of the business.
The successful candidate for this role will not only have a strong accounting background but will also demonstrate strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. They should be detail-oriented and have a strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. A Senior Accountant in our team is a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles.
This position is in office (not remote). It includes a free garage parking space inside and a private office space.
Core Responsibilities
Comprehensive management and oversight of all facets of accounts receivable, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations
Regular reconciliation of the accounts receivable ledger to confirm that all payments have been accounted for and correctly posted
Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents.
Oversee payroll, and taxes, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and to the highest standard
Production of detailed financial statements and reports that provide status updates on accounts receivable
Collaborate closely with the Controller to enhance, streamline, and optimize accounting procedures and operations, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Accounting team
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Must have 5 years of professional accounting experience
Strong understanding and practical application of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, showcasing the ability to use technology to streamline processes
Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data
Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects and meet strict deadlines
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership abilities, demonstrating the capacity to lead a team and communicate effective
