CPA Finance Director
Our retained client is a privately held investment and hospitality group with a portfolio spanning real estate, development, and luxury dining.
They’re seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead all financial operations across both their investment management business and their flagship restaurant brand in Midtown Manhattan.
This is a hands‑on leadership role—ideal for a CPA who can move easily between fund‑level reporting, P&L management for hospitality operations, and strategic planning for growth.
What You’ll Do
Lead and oversee all financial operations of the group — accounting, treasury, tax, budgeting, and forecasting
Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team
Liaise with auditors and tax advisors to maintain regulatory compliance
Develop and implement tax planning strategies
Review consolidated financial results and prepare management reports for the parent organization
Partner with department heads to analyze performance and identify cost‑savings opportunities
Oversee budgeting for restaurant operations including labor, COGS, and capital expenditures
Ensure adherence to GAAP and IFRS standards; monitor accounting and regulatory changes
Support ESG reporting and corporate governance initiatives
Finance Director Requirements & Qualifications
CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience within multi‑entity organizations
Knowledge of GAAP / IFRS and regulatory compliance
Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant finance (required) — understanding of restaurant P&L and operational cost drivers
Background in real estate investment, property management, or asset management is a strong plus
Skilled in financial planning, forecasting, cash management, and systems implementation
Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable presenting to executives and investors
Must‑Haves
Previous experience in hospitality / restaurant operations
Proven track record of streamlining processes and improving reporting accuracy
Experience with restaurant POS and inventory systems integration a plus
Finance Director Preferred Background & Skills
Previous experience in real estate or property management finance
Exposure to private equity or investment fund structures
Knowledge of multi‑entity and international consolidations
Strong systems knowledge (QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or similar ERP)
About the Role This is a key leadership role for a finance professional who wants to shape the financial framework of a growing, multi‑industry organization.
Location: New York, NY. Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000.
