Job Overview:

The Industry Relations Manager (IRM) will manage relationships with early‑growth and mid‑size innovative technology employers across FinTech, MedTech, Cleantech, SaaS, AI for business, EdTech, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and other startups. The role advances career outcomes for Questrom undergraduate and graduate students by expanding internship and job opportunities, conducting employer engagement and campus recruiting events, and collaborating with faculty, career coaches, student clubs, and alumni. The IRM works closely with the Feld Center for Career and Alumni Engagement team to build long‑term partnerships that yield high‑quality internships, on‑campus recruiting, and professional development programs.

Job Functions and Responsibilities Job Function 1 (70%) – Business Development & Relationship Management

Engage in business development and relationship management activities that support the school’s strategic career‑outcomes priorities.

Establish relationships with new companies and create opportunities for new roles and relationships with existing partners.

Improve internship opportunities for undergraduate students, focusing on leadership development and rotational programs that convert to full‑time roles.

Engage with existing industry partners to maximize student opportunities through on‑ and off‑campus recruiting, curricular engagement, and student club activities.

Coordinate with the Questrom operations team to plan and execute recruiting events, ensuring high engagement excellence.

Cultivate relationships to maximize roles and programs for undergraduate and MBA students, aligning with strategic goals.

Share information about master’s programs and student populations with partner companies, collaborating with specialty master’s career services teams.

Optimize Questrom’s relationship with the innovative technology ecosystem to align with student interests.

Leverage alumni‑company liaisons to increase opportunities, especially at companies that do not currently consider Questrom a target school.

Job Function 2 (20%) – Collaboration with Career Coaches, Faculty, and Staff

Meet regularly with career coaches to share employer events, recruiting opportunities, deadlines, etc.

Work with career coaches to identify students for key opportunities and map resume books.

Facilitate networking and career development support between students and alumni.

Collaborate with UG, MBA, and specialty master’s program faculty to understand curriculum and share employer insights.

Share information with faculty and program leadership regarding specific opportunities, events, and deadlines.

Exchange industry and recruiting insights with faculty and program leadership.

Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Initiatives on recruiting and career development opportunities.

Share knowledge and resources with other IRMs and related staff.

Partner with admissions, diversity, equity, inclusion, and program offices on career development activities.

Job Function 3 (10%) – Direct Student‑Facing Activities

Work closely with student clubs to design, implement, and support career‑related programming and events.

Collaborate with student clubs to engage alumni for career development support.

Attend student club activities to reinforce institutional alumni‑student connections.

Communicate internship and employment opportunities, application deadlines, and event information to student club leadership.

Offer virtual office hours for employer and career development communication, answering industry and company‑specific questions.

Required Skills and Experience

BA/BS or equivalent; 5+ years in executive search, corporate relations, development, or major account sales and marketing.

Marketing and sales expertise, familiarity with executive search and university development.

Demonstrated ability to set and meet performance targets.

Excellent time‑management, written and oral communication, and high integrity.

Knowledge of employment trends and ability to develop professional networks.

Proficiency in sustaining professional networks.

Willingness to travel throughout the year, primarily in major metro areas and occasional trips elsewhere.
