Assistant Director of Employer Relations, CAES Posting type: External. Employment type: Employee. Full time. Benefits eligible. Location: Athens Area (GA). Position expected start: 11/01/2025. Salary: $69,680. Working hours: 8:00am–5:00pm; evenings or weekends as necessary. Responsibilities
Develop and execute an effective Employer Relations strategy for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES). Develop and maintain a menu of employer engagement opportunities (recruitment activities, classroom presentations, student organization speaker opportunities, special events) and evaluate annually. Consult with employers on campus recruiting strategy and encourage participation in career fairs and student engagement opportunities. Provide high-quality customer service to employers throughout their engagement with the College. Network with employers at career fairs and recruiting events to build and maintain relationships; stay attuned to industry trends impacting the College. Manage employer contacts and track engagement activity using data from the donor database (GAIL) and Handshake. Coordinate communication and event promotion, event planning, program assessment, and data reporting. Duties/Responsibilities (Collaboration & Communication)
Communicate information about upcoming events and programming to relevant stakeholders and leaders. Promote employer engagement events to students using CAES digital signage, listservs, newsletters, social media, and more; coordinate with the Career Center, CAES Office of Marketing and Communications, and CAES Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Meet regularly with CAES faculty to align academic programs with industry needs. Support planning and execution of the annual Agricultural and Environmental Career & Internship Fair. Work closely with the College’s career consultant and other personnel to develop and execute the employer relations strategy. Assessment and Evaluation
Design and implement an annual assessment and evaluation plan to measure program effectiveness, gathering feedback from students, faculty, and employers. Use assessment data to inform future engagement decisions. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, and/or experience in the agricultural sector. Agricultural sector experience and knowledge of industry trends. Career services experience, specifically employer relations and event planning experience. Career assessment experience. Ability to work with various groups and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additional Details
