Responsibilities

Meet with and provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on export compliance matters. Lead and manage client projects including export classifications, audits, reviews, program development, and training among other areas. Support market development and thought leadership initiatives including articles; research, write, and review advice, specifically in export compliance. Manage project engagement including assembling teams, overseeing work and full engagement responsibilities. Aid in the management, career development and training of team members. Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of recent direct consulting experience in export compliance such as EAR and ITAR including deemed exports, export jurisdiction and classification of complex products, licenses and other ITAR/EAR export authorizations, technology control plans, Consent Agreements, ITAR brokering, Congressional Notification, EAR de minimis guidelines, and developing sustainable export compliance programs as an attorney, trade consultant, in-house professional, or government official; consulting experience in a leading tax/advisory or trade law firm is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; relevant credentials/designations (e.g., CBL, CUSICO, Export Compliance Professional, ACSS, CCS, CPA, Enrolled Agent, JD/LLM, MBA) or equivalent; must secure one within one year of employment if not currently held. Exceptional and in-depth experience with U.S. export control regulations with the ability to address complex matters with practical advice and solutions. Experience in general export control and sanctions, including audits/reviews, voluntary disclosures, advisory opinions, classification, and developing a trade compliance framework. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; strong technical skills; ability to plan and conduct in-depth reviews of transactional data using data and analytics is preferred. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
