Restaurant General Manager

at Peacock Alley. The iconic Old Post Office has been reimagined as Waldorf Astoria Washington DC, offering 263 rooms, 38,000 square feet of event space, and 2 restaurants plus 3 bars.

Key Responsibilities

Direct day‑to‑day operations of Peacock Alley, managing a team of 3 Food and Beverage Managers, 30 Front of House staff, and reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.

Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, profitability, marketing initiatives, system use, budgeting, forecasting and policy implementation.

Monitor, develop, and recognize team member performance, conduct counseling and evaluations.

Create and maintain customer database, partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy.

Maximize efficiency of technology systems such as OpenTable.

Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, address issues, and implement improvements.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.

Implement up‑selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services, including new menus and cross‑selling hotel‑wide.

Recruit, interview and train team members.

Qualifications

At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment.

Experience in a luxurious cocktail environment, strong beverage knowledge, and managing a unionized work environment (preferred).

Exceptional leadership, passion for creating extraordinary experiences, and talent for training and developing others.

Proficiency in all aspects of restaurant operations, including financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations.

Compensation & Benefits

Full‑time, various shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Annual salary range: $110,000 – $120,000.
