About The Role
Responsible for ensuring that data is securely backed up and can be restored efficiently in case of data loss or system failure. The Backup Administrator is responsible for developing and implementing backup strategies that align with the organization’s data protection requirements. This includes identifying what data needs to be backed up, understanding the reasons for backing it up, and balancing budgetary constraints with recovery objectives and data security.

What You’ll Do
Determine what data needs to be backed up, including databases, applications, systems, and user files.
Understand business continuity needs, data retention policies, and recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment.
Ensure that the data backup strategy adheres to legal and regulatory standards for data protection.
Design a tiered backup architecture that supports full, differential, and incremental backups.
Plan for the physical setup of storage and network resources necessary for backups.
Implement redundancy measures and failover systems for high availability.
Periodically review backup performance and make necessary adjustments.
What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field with four years or more of related work experience. Or 5 years of hands‑on IT infrastructure experience instead.
