Associate Vice President of Administration & Finance
Wayne State College is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as the Associate Vice President of Administration & Finance (AVPAF). This position reports directly to the Vice President for Administration & Finance and plays a key role in supporting the administrative and financial operations of the College. The AVPAF also oversees financial processing for the Wayne State Foundation. This position involves the handling of sensitive and confidential information. Responsibilities
Oversee the Budget/Grant Administration office and the Foundation Financial Manager by providing supervision, training, and support to the Budget Director and the Foundation Financial Manager.
Oversee preparation of annual general operating budgets for the College as well as monitoring of fund balances.
Oversee various reporting requirements.
Assist with preparation of biennium budget proposal, including preparing detailed salary and benefit information for positions, non-personal services data, etc. to submit for preliminary budget preparation and to develop final College budget.
Lead financial planning and analysis, including preparation of revenue and expenditure forecasts.
Facilitate financial understanding among other members of the College community through presentations and training.
Work toward making business processes more effective and efficient.
Serve on President’s Cabinet and President’s Extended Leadership Team.
Participate in Council of Business Officers (CBO) meetings.
Assist with covering other duties within the Administrative and Finance unit due to staff vacancies, extended leave, etc.
Serve as acting VPAF as assigned.
Work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the VPAF.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in Business Administration.
Work experience in higher education.
Work experience with foundation financials.
Experience with SAP accounting system, Blackbaud’s Financial Edge & Raiser’s Edge.
Experience with Peoplesoft Student Information System.
