Job Description The Ryan Company, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Site Safety Representative to join our team in Texas and surrounding states. Once the Texas assignment is complete, the position will relocate to other U.S. sites as needed. The role is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for the company. The Site Safety Representative will assist Project Managers, Construction Managers, and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practices and conditions at a site level.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, conduct, and document safety meetings and on‑site safety audits.

Ensure that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.

Monitor activities where incidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment.

Provide safety technical support and education for supervisors and employees, giving feedback to encourage learning.

Promote proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions.

Integrate safety into project plans by establishing safety goals, reinforcing safety policies and procedures.

Monitor safety compliance, creating awareness and setting priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement.

Work closely with Ryan Corporate Safety Staff to share incident reports, safety alerts, safety information, and track safety training.

Lead new‑hire orientation, onboarding, employee training, and development.

Develop and monitor safety metrics and scorecards. Identify deficiencies and take appropriate corrective action.

Perform and monitor safety audits.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

Proven communication, organizational, presentation, and analytical skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered

Must have at least one of the following credentials: CSP, SMS, ASP, GSP, TSP, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CIT

3–5 years of field construction safety experience

Must be able to remain standing approximately 75% of the time

Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching

The person in this position frequently communicates with employees, subcontractors, vendors, and the client. This person must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

Climb ladders and stairs

Occasionally lift 40 pounds
