Job Description You will be the Software Engineer Staff for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.

As a Software Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of software professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world's most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Integrate features/algorithms into C++ applications

Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities

Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.

Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.

Correct program errors, prepares operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or related field

Active Final Secret Clearance

Real-time embedded software development

C++ (version 11 or higher)

Linux Operating Systems (CentOS, Rocky 8, or similar distribution)

Desired Skills

Agile Development (Scrum Master or Product Owner or Release Train Engineer experience)

Multithreading/multiprocessing development

GitLab CI/CD Pipelines

GoogleTest or similar Unit test tool

Knowledge of Publish / Subscribe communication protocol Data Distribution Services (DDS) by RTI is preferred

Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA)

C-Make

Cameo Modeler

Windows Operating System

Experience as a software engineer working with multi-disciplined teams

Work Schedule Information: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Range: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location.
