Bridge Inspection Team Leader/Project Engineer Join Fickett Structural Solutions, Inc. as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader/Project Engineer . We seek an experienced professional with 4+ years in bridge inspections to lead field teams, conduct structural inspections, report findings, and assist with load ratings and design.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, manage, and lead inspection teams performing structural inspections of bridges, culverts, ancillary structures, dams, and buildings across the United States.

Create detailed, professional reports based on inspection findings and record them in DOT‑specific databases.

Assist in design and load‑rating calculations.

Support bridge owners with their bridge programs and maintenance needs, including repair design.

Mentor and provide leadership for entry‑level engineers.

Travel for out‑of‑town work, including consecutive overnight stays.

Requirements Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑Accredited university.

Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee (or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within 180 days of hire).

Meet NBIS Qualifications for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for Routine and NSTM Inspections.

SPRAT and/or IRATA Certification preferred.

Previous Work Experience & Skills

4+ years of experience in bridge inspections.

Field experience, particularly with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).

Experience with SNBI conversions.

Preferred Computer Skills

Microsoft Office, Bluebeam.

MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit.

State Bridge Databases (Assetwise, AASHTOWare BrM, etc.).

Experience with load‑rating analysis software and finite element modeling is also valuable.

Physical and Personal Requirements

Comfortable working at heights while utilizing lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or rope access.

Walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather, and stand for 8+ hours per day while in the field.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
