WHO WE ARE The Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) is the organization within Hallmark Technology that is responsible for:

Building a world‑class, consumer‑focused caring platform that enables Hallmark’s lines of business (LOB) across the enterprise (Crayola, Hallmark Media, Hallmark Global) to accelerate their direct‑to‑consumer product strategies.

Developing a Cloud‑first, multi‑tenant digital platform that provides capabilities and services, such as a unified Hallmark Profile, Product Recommendations, Global Payment services, etc.

Building, securing and operating digital consumer products for Hallmark’s LOBs.

Scaling development capabilities to build for Hallmark’s future.

As a member of the DCOE team you’ll partner with high‑functioning, high‑energy cross‑functional teams that bring products such as our Hallmark Gold Crown Omnichannel network to life for our consumers. With a consumer‑first focus this group delivers impactful digital solutions that highly engage customers, drive brand retention, revenue growth and relevance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO The DevOps team in DCOE manages AWS infrastructure and creates self‑service pipelines to empower developers. You will work with cutting‑edge technologies such as Terraform, AWS, GitLab pipelines, automation in Python, Golang, and more. The team also handles migration projects such as Octopus migration to GitLab and GitLab migration to SaaS to reduce costs.

Key responsibilities include:

Bridging the gap between software development and IT operations to improve collaboration, efficiency, and automation.

Streamlining the deployment pipeline, automating repetitive tasks, and implementing CI/CD practices.

Leading strategic initiatives, driving infrastructure automation, continuous improvement, and innovation aligned with organizational objectives.

Mentoring junior team members, managing risks, ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Overseeing DevOps operations, developing CI/CD pipelines, driving automation throughout infrastructure and application deployment processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of professional work experience.

At least 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Software Developer.

Experience with Terraform, GitLab Pipelines, AWS, Datadog, and Docker.

At least 3 years of SQL and Aurora Database experience.

At least 4 years of experience in Python, Java, and/or Ruby.

At least 4 years of experience in scripting languages such as Bash and/or PowerShell.

At least 4 years of experience in DevOps tools and technologies.

At least 4 years of experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Familiarity with software development practices such as version control, code review, and testing.

Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks and implement IaC practices.

Experience using version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), and/or cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog and AWS CloudWatch.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work both on‑site at Hallmark’s Headquarters and virtually from your residence in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area.

This progressive role will be filled at a level based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
