What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Conduct research and develop analysis techniques for environmental satellite remote sensing applications
Develop methods for estimating global cloud field parameters based on satellite data
Explore the use of satellite cloud and aerosol data for aviation weather applications
Validate research findings using in-situ measurements and intercomparisons with multiple satellites
Share research results through progress reports, meetings, and contributions to journal publications
What is Required (Qualifications)
Ph.D. in meteorology, atmospheric sciences, or a closely related STEM field (must complete Ph.D. defense before the start date)
Experience working in satellite remote sensing related to atmospheric clouds
Experience with scientific datasets for meteorological applications
Experience working in a team environment and communicating scientific results
Ability to address all required qualifications in the cover letter
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience working with in-situ measurements for weather and climate research
Proficiency in computer programming for meteorological data analysis, preferably Python
Familiarity with statistical, mathematical, or machine learning methods with multiple data sources
Knowledge of atmospheric radiative transfer models
Experience writing for scientific publications
