We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. This onsite role offers the chance to drive measurable impact by improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality across manufacturing operations.
As a CI Engineer, you’ll collaborate across teams to implement Lean tools such as Kaizen and Kanban, while guiding a culture of problem solving and accountability. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background and thrives on turning analysis into action.
Key Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and office operations
Facilitate Kaizen events and close performance gaps with data-driven solutions
Analyze processes using Lean Manufacturing and 8D methodologies
Train and mentor employees on structured problem-solving (5-Why, 8D)
Track KPIs and monitor performance to sustain gains
Maintain documentation, SOPs, and compliance standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial, or Manufacturing discipline
Hands‑on experience in manufacturing with Lean, Kaizen, Kanban practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data tools (Excel, Minitab preferred)
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional projects
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range:
$70,000 – $95,000, based on skills and experience
Quarterly incentive bonus program
