The Opportunity As our Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”), you’ll be the strategic partner guiding iBio’s financial future. You’ll influence key business decisions, drive financial transparency, and ensure every project is set up for success. Your insights will directly impact our ability to innovate, grow, and deliver life‑saving therapies.
Location & Work Arrangement
East Coast candidates: This role is fully remote, aligned with the Eastern Time Zone to collaborate seamlessly with our Finance and Accounting team.
San Diego, CA candidates: This role is fully onsite at our San Diego office.
What You’ll Do Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes in alignment with iBio’s strategic goals.
Oversee FP&A activities, ensuring accurate, transparent, and actionable financial insights.
Partner with the CFO to strengthen FP&A processes, driving scalable, data‑driven decision‑making.
Assist with project budgets, forecasts, and quarterly analyses.
Management Reporting & Analysis
Manage monthly management reporting, including variance analysis and key performance metrics.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
Cash Flow & Procurement Management
Lead cash flow analysis, maintaining the 13‑week cash model to optimize liquidity.
Oversee purchasing, approvals, PR/PO requests, and vendor communications to ensure efficient procurement.
Project & Client Oversight
Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and contractual compliance.
Collaborate with project teams and clients to maintain strong relationships and successful outcomes.
Create and manage clinical trial financial models to support R&D initiatives.
Strategic Support & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and present actionable recommendations to senior management.
Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic decisions, special projects, and new business evaluations.
Partner with department heads to align financial management with operational strategies.
Finance Systems & Administration
Administer and manage the Adaptive Planning finance system, ensuring seamless functionality and reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or a related degree preferred.
MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on Research & Development (experience in molecule development is required).
Proven expertise in the Biotechnology and/or Pharmaceutical industry is required.
Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in administering and/or managing the Adaptive Planning finance system is required.
Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
Exceptional ability to interpret and communicate financial information and commercial drivers with transparency, provide insights to deliver business improvement and to optimize and protect value.
Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills, with the ability to navigate through complex issues, interpret and transform financial data into recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience in NetSuite is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Characteristics of Successful Applicant
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, and management reporting.
Expert financial modeling and analytical skills to support data‑driven decision‑making.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Base Salary Range The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from $119,540.00 to $158,460.00, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base salary range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, job‑related skills, relevant education attained, work location, and organizational needs. This range may be modified in the future. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
