NOW CFO is partnering with a rapidly growing, privately held company to identify a
Senior FP&A Analyst
to join their San Diego-based team. This role is designed to strengthen the company’s financial forecasting, planning, and reporting capabilities during a period of significant expansion and systems transition. Candidates must be local to San Diego as this role does require weekly in-office days, with flexibility.
About the Role Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will serve as a key finance business partner responsible for enhancing financial visibility and driving strategic insights through reporting, forecasting, and modeling. The Senior FP&A Analyst will work closely with accounting and operations leadership to support decision-making and help build scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range strategic plans
Compile and analyze monthly financial statements, KPI dashboards, and performance reports (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow)
Interpret financial results and deliver clear variance analyses against budget and forecast
Manage cash flow projections and identify trends impacting liquidity and operational performance
Collaborate with accounting, operations, and department leaders to support strategic initiatives and uncover efficiency opportunities
Build and refine financial models for scenario planning, forecasting, and business case analysis
Partner with the accounting team during month-end close to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting
Perform detailed ad‑hoc analysis to support management decisions and special projects
Enhance and automate reporting processes to improve timeliness and accuracy of financial data
Continuously evaluate and strengthen planning and reporting methodologies to support scalability and growth
Qualifications Must-Haves
Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting)
5+ years of FP&A or Senior Financial Analyst experience
Background in inventory‑based or contract manufacturing environments
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Nice-to-Haves
Prior accounting experience (Staff Accountant through Controller level)
Experience with QuickBooks Online, SAP, or Salesforce
Leadership or management experience with future growth potential
Experience in high growth and/or Private Equity backed environments
