Summary
Notes: Please review the attached JD for more details. Location: WHQ, 4-1, open to relocation - they need start day 1 on campus. Contract: Start-5/31/2026, end date will not adjust to start - team does not have funding past fiscal year end. Headcount: 1 Sr Front Engineer (We are working on getting additional budget for the other opening, please ignore it for now). Reason: Special Project. Project: Looking for a Sr Frontend Software Engineer to develop a newer Nike Media Platform tool. Product support for media and picture assets, managing the platform and stack. They'll support internal and external end users with minor enhancements and production fixes as needed. NOT looking for immediate disqualifications: JAVA - they will be too process-oriented and not a team fit. I have been instructed to disqualify any candidates with Java experience.
Must Have: Front end experience in React/Redux, JavaScript and TypeScript eco-system. Strong experience with Node JS and AWS. Familiar with terraform.
Nice to Haves: Experience with GraphQL, Git/GitHub Actions, Ai tools, cloud-based solutions. Startup experience, has built up products from the beginning of the lifecycle. Enjoys working in fast paced environments with not a lot of existing processing - it is a loose flow team. This is an advanced engineering team - gloves off environment. They need to be proactive and reactive to change and passionate about what they do.
Responsibilities
Participate in the design and implementation of user-facing features in web applications.
Design scalable and maintainable frontend architectures.
Conduct and participate in code reviews.
Optimize frontend performance.
Write unit and end-to-end tests.
Maintain technical documentation.
Collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and other team members.
Skills
Proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like SASS/LESS).
Experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
Integration with RESTful APIs.
Proficiency with Git and related workflows.
Familiarity with build tools (Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).
Debugging using browser developer tools.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Deep hands-on expertise in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript ecosystem.
Fluency in Figma and ability to understand business use cases for UX into functioning code.
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
Experience with Cloudfront, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Eventbridge, MediaConvert, Translate, Transcribe, Cloudwatch, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch.
Experience with GraphQL, Git/GitHub Actions, and AI tools (e.g., cloud-based solutions).
Exposure to event-based architecture.
Startup experience or having built products from the ground up.
Enjoys working in fast-paced, loosely structured environments with minimal existing processes.
