Position Overview As a
BIM Technician
reporting to the Operations Manager, you will create, modify, validate, and prepare detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings, manage BIM deliverables, and support the operations team in achieving labor efficiency and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
Create, modify, validate, and prepare detailed 2D and 3D construction drawings to meet project expectations.
Produce detailed product drawings required for manufacturing.
Create field install drawings for the Operations team.
Read and navigate blueprint drawings with basic understanding.
Provide input to the project dashboard/tracking system.
Collaborate with the Operations team and BIM support lead to ensure detailing and installation practices utilize the most efficient and effective solutions.
Review, evaluate, and maintain VDC deliverables.
Contribute to positive project outcomes measured in labor efficiency and quality.
Manage workflow of all assigned tasks.
Provide feedback to BIM lead and Supervisor to identify areas, systems, or assemblies that can improve field installation efficiency.
Complete record drawings at the end of the project.
Work on a variety of construction projects including commercial, mission‑critical, healthcare, industrial, and high‑rise.
Understand the client’s perspective as it relates to project support.
Provide accurate timelines for all work packs to the BIM project lead and/or Supervisor.
Identify and communicate potential installation clashes with other trades.
Read and understand submittals for physical equipment sizing and layout during modeling.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Strong BIM software experience or commercial field electrical experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
