The position will lead a field-based team of Territory Managers to drive the sale and promotion of Lilly products within a defined geography and operate in close partnership with Lilly. The role reports to the Vanigent National Business Director and involves hiring, training, coaching and developing Territory Managers, executing strategy, and ensuring compliance with all sales guidelines.
Essential Functions
Leads, motivates, and develops a team of Territory Managers, building capabilities and driving overall territory performance against sales, access, and compliance goals.
Effectively identifies and monitors multiple local market conditions to build and support strong customer relationships while driving product‑promotion solutions and executing marketing strategies.
Monitors field activities to ensure all are within compliance guidelines and provides timely feedback on marketing tactics and market conditions while collaborating closely with leadership, commercial operations, marketing, and medical affairs.
Develops and executes comprehensive plans to support the sales and revenue plans of the organization.
Ensures call plan execution by the Territory Managers through monitoring/reporting sales performance against key performance metrics.
Partners with Alliance team to develop integrated business plans, communication, and collaboration with key strategic and tactical initiatives.
Leads budget planning and expense management for the Territory Manager team.
Required Education and Skills
Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience as a district or regional first‑line manager.
10+ years of commercial pharmaceutical experience.
Immunology experience is highly preferred.
Documented history and proven track record of sales success.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets Vanigent requirements.
Ability to meet travel demands – 70% field time and other travel as necessary, including overnights and/or weekends.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
Preference for the BD to live in the district boundaries.
Demonstrated ability to lead a district, create and execute strategic plans and drive results through others.
Ability to develop, recruit and hire top talent.
Exceptional communication skills.
Strong analytical capability.
Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,000k – $195,000k. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
