Job Summary Responsible for performing all MRI imaging exams and procedures in accordance with clinic policy and procedures. Performs MRI screening for all patients, IV insertions and contrast injections, patient preparation and explanation of exams, MRI imaging, and ensuring imaging is complete.

Essential Functions

Select appropriate pulse sequences from monitoring console for scan procedures.

Record all pulse sequences implemented for exam.

Recommend changes in protocol or additional instructions to provide additional diagnostic information.

Evaluate results of scanning procedure for quality of results and completeness.

Manipulate images through use of console keyboard and mouse to display to physician.

Recognize problems and rectifies with respect to selection made of operation.

Send images to PACS system, evaluate exam for completeness, and verify exam in a timely manner.

Develop a working knowledge of all PACS capabilities.

Assure proper completion of records by technologist for billing and recording purposes.

Record requisitions.

Communicate and coordinate with staff of previous and next shift regarding equipment problems, waiting patients and other like information.

Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials

Radiologic Technologist and Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred

Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

Magnetic Resonance Technologist [MRI - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred

Experience Related work experience 0-1 year required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the location of emergency equipment and its functions.

Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations.

Familiarity with and ability to use specialized ancillary equipment.

Possesses and utilizes excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and other medical related skills/knowledge.

Promotes good public relations on the phone and in person.
