Full Stack Engineer (AI Experience a Plus)
to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, the
Teachers Retirement System of Texas (TRS).
Work Hours and Location
8AM-5PM
Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Candidates must be local to Austin, TX or surrounding areas. Candidates must be either a US Citizen or Green Card holders.
Job Responsibilities
Client is looking for a talented AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy intelligent solutions that harness big data infrastructure and cutting-edge AI frameworks. This role demands a solid background in software engineering and a proven ability to deliver production‑grade, scalable AI web applications— from easy‑to‑use front‑end designs to reliable back‑end systems and data workflows.
Develop intelligent, self‑service user experiences by integrating pre‑trained LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) and machine learning frameworks into customer‑facing applications.
Design and implement end‑to‑end features for a chat‑based data interaction platform.
Build responsive, user‑friendly front‑end interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Streamlit.
Develop scalable back‑end services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask) or Node.js.
Enhance and maintain software systems supporting generative AI initiatives.
Deliver full‑stack AI‑powered applications using Python and contemporary UI frameworks.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex challenges and integrate scalable, cloud‑based AI solutions.
Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on AI tools with a focus on performance, flexibility, and scalability.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, conduct code reviews, and support the full software development lifecycle.
Design and implement DevOps pipelines to support release management.
Qualifications
Minimum:
7 years:
A minimum of seven years of experience in software development, including at least two years focused on AI/ML technologies and over four years of hands‑on expertise with Python.
Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and React.js, with a strong background in backend services and data processing.
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and data protection best practices.
Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.
Some hands‑on experience with generative AI frameworks and models (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI APIs).
Familiarity with LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval systems.
Programmatic Integration with Microsoft 365 Using Graph API and Entra ID Authentication.
Preferred:
Knowledge of data visualization libraries and dashboarding tools.
Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with DevOps tools including Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
Understanding of database and data engineering fundamentals.
Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration and server development.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
