Network Core IP Engineer – Nokia & Juniper Experience (100% Remote)
TEKsystems is seeking a Core IP Network Engineer II or III for a 2‑year, 100% remote contract. The engineer will design and implement solutions for the company’s IP/MPLS core network, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and video transmission services.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and document new network deployments.
Test new technologies and service architectures in laboratory environments.
Provide engineering estimates and installation packages.
Support operations teams with escalation and troubleshooting assistance.
Mentor junior staff to build technical knowledge.
Essential Duties
Plan, design, implement, and document new network implementations.
Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments.
Generate engineering estimates and installation packages.Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams.
Required Experience & Skills
7+ years of Core IP Network Engineering/Design in enterprise or ISP environments.
Strong knowledge of MPLS, ISIS, BGP, and routing protocols.
Experience configuring Nokia and Juniper routers and switches.
Advanced understanding of RSVP, LDP, PIM, and Ethernet technologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and network diagram creation.
Project management experience handling multiple concurrent projects.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Certifications
Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS
Cisco CCNA/CCNP
Nokia NRS I/NRS II
Brocade BCNE/BCNP
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum four years of related technical experience in a carrier Ethernet or large ISP environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, telecommunications, or related field required.
Graduate degree may substitute for professional engineering experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
